Salisbury Steak Recipe

This recipe is easy to put together, but it tastes like it took hours to make.

  • 1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 can (10.5oz.) condensed French onion soup
  • 1/2 cup dry bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/8 tsp. ground black pepper
  • 1 tbsp. all purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp. Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. mustard powder


1In a large bowl, mix 1/3 cup condensed French onion soup together with the ground beef, bread crumbs, egg, salt and black pepper. Shape into patties.

2Brown both sides of the patties in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat. Drain excess fat.

3In a separate smaller bowl, blend the flour and remaining soup until smooth. Mix in the ketchup, water, Worcestershire Sauce and mustard powder. Pour over meat, cover and cook for 20 minutes, stirring frequently.
